From Scouts to Founders: A Full Circle Moment at the 2024 Eagle Recognition Dinner

In late March, TrailEagle co-founders Kevin Burnett and Wesley Casselman returned to their roots in a meaningful way—serving as keynote speakers at the 2024 Eagle Recognition Dinner hosted by Scouting America – Michigan Crossroads Council.
Held in front of 315+ attendees, including 50 newly minted Eagle Scouts, the evening was a celebration of leadership, service, and commitment—values that have long shaped our journey at TrailEagle.
As two Eagle Scouts ourselves, standing on that stage was more than an honor. It was a reminder of where it all started. Just four years ago, we were in the audience, not yet business owners—but already learning the discipline, grit, and purpose that would one day guide us in building this company.
TrailEagle is rooted in those values. The same mindset that earned us merit badges—being prepared, staying resilient, serving with integrity—is what now drives our pursuit of building better outdoor gear for serious adventurers.
We’re grateful to Denver Laabs, CFRE, ACNP, Deann Newman, and the entire Michigan Crossroads Council team for the opportunity to give back to a community that shaped who we are.
To the 2024 class of Eagle Scouts—congratulations. Your next chapter is just beginning, and the world needs your leadership now more than ever.
